Tour: Wren and Lutyens in Oxford

Tuesday 5 October 2021, 10am-4pm

starting at Christ Church College Oxford and finishing at Campion Hall Oxford

It is well documented that Lutyens took great inspiration from the work of Sir Christopher Wren. This tour will combine a walking tour of Wren’s Oxford with a private tour of Lutyens’s own Oxford College, Campion Hall (1934-36). The Wren walking tour will include the colleges of Christ Church, Wadham, Trinity, All Souls, the Sheldonian Theatre and The Divinity School. Some colleagues may be restricted to outside views only due to Covid restrictions. The tour of Campion Hall, which is an amazing example of Lutyens’s work, will provide a fantastic opportunity to see a building still used for its original purpose. The interiors are full of his original lighting and furniture designs and examples of his drawings for the college will be exclusively on display for our party.

Price: £100 including a 2-course lunch

(Price does not include drinks, refreshments at coffee break, travel, travel insurance or gratuities.)
