Lutyens Memorial to a Spanish Opera Singer
Recently the Trust was approached by a member of a group of admirers of the famous Spanish opera singer Conchita Supervia (1895 – 1936), concerning the condition of her gravestone in the Jewish Liberal Cemetery in Willesden, London which is now in need of renovation. The singer married Sir Ben Rubenstein in 1931 and sadly died in childbirth: her child is buried with her. This unique gravestone was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and erected in 1937.
The Trustees have agreed to make a donation towards the cost of the restoration work.
