Event Bookings & Membership – Two features on The Lutyens Trust Website

By Richard Wilding

In the Summer 2015 Newsletter, I wrote about my redesign of the Lutyens Trust website, which launched last year and took inspiration from the Trust’s existing style in terms of the fonts and colours used in its printed material.

In my previous article, I referred to its two main sections — “About Lutyens” and “The Trust”, which provide information on Edwin Lutyens and his work and on the Trust and its activities respectively. This time, I would like to highlight two other features — event bookings and online memberships — which can both be found in the section “The Trust”. Event bookings can be made by scrolling down to the sub-section “Events”, where forthcoming events organised by the Trust are shown (previous events are also archived here for reference). Members can click on the event they are interested in booking and will have options to select different ticket types and quantities, depending on the event. Payment is made by credit card or PayPal. Having made an online booking, members receive a receipt by email, which doubles as their ticket for the event. For members still wishing to book manually, bookings can be made with cheque payment by post.

In addition to annual memberships paid by cheque or standing order, the Trust takes online payments for annual memberships, a feature found in the sub-section “Membership”. Visitors to the site can join the Trust with three types of membership: single, joint or under-25. Members who have already paid online can follow a link on this page to manage their membership by logging in using their private details. This allows them to change their address and contact details as well as update their payment method.

The two links on the website are as follows:
