Hampstead Open Day

Sunday 19 September 2004

The Trust assisted once again this year at the Open House at Hampstead Garden Suburb. On 19 September Andrew and Christine Barnett, Claire Hill, Nicholas Wickham-Irving and Diana Woodfield spent the afternoon at St. Jude’s Church telling visitors about the Trust, handing out membership leaflets and offering books for sale. Following book sales a donation of £12 was made to the Church’s Centenary Appeal. The church was described by Nikolaus Pevsner as “one of Edwin Lutyens’s most successful buildings” but now is in need of considerable funds for repairs and improvements. The Lutyens Trust is giving £500 and any friend who would like to make a contribution may contact the Churchwarden, St Jude-on-the-Hill, Central Square, Hampstead Garden Suburb, London NW11 7AH.
