A Walking Tour through Mayfair and the Grosvenor Estate

Saturday, 21 September, 2024, 10:30am-3pm

Meeting place: centre of the green at St James’s Square, London SW1Y 4LE

This will take in buildings and works designed by Lutyens or those associated in some way with him. It will begin at St James’s Square, where Lutyens’s office was based during the building of New Delhi. We will then progress towards Piccadilly, the Royal Academy of Arts and into the Grosvenor Eastate, with over 15 works by Lutyens, taking in memorials and street clocks, and housings of all sized, before arriving at Marble Arch and the grand Oxford Street building which is now a PrimarkThere will be free-time to have lunch (not included).

This event is open to both members and guests. Price includes personal audio headsets.

Public Transport

The nearest Railway Station is Charing Cross, a 10-15 minute walk to the meeting point. By tube: the nearest stations are Green Park (Jubilee, Piccadilly and Victoria), Piccadilly Circus (Bakerloo & Piccadilly) and Charing Cross (Bakerloo & Northern), all within 10-15 minutes of the meeting point.

At the end, the nearest tube stations are Marble Arch (Central), and Bond Street (Elizabeth, Central & Jubilee)
