Christmas Lunch at The Bloomsbury Hotel
Saturday 2 December 2023, 12noon-4pm
The Bloomsbury Hotel, 16-22 Great Russell Street, London, WC1B 3NN
Taking place once more at the Bloomsbury Hotel, Great Russell Street – formerly the YWCA, designed by Lutyens in 1930 – the lunch will give you a chance to explore the building, including the former Queen Mary’s Hall, and (subject to availability) the Library and Chapel.
We are also pleased to announce that our guest speaker this year will be Jeremy Musson, who will be giving a talk on his early memories of Lutyens, his time at Country Life and his current researches into Lutyens’s relationship with Sir George Sitwell at Renishaw.
The lunch will also feature the usual team quiz with prizes and a raffle offering more great prizes. Providing outstanding food and wine at a top venue, this lunch is not to be missed.
The cost of the full three-course luncheon, including half a bottle of wine, is £94. Guests are most welcome, at a cost of £99 to include a day-membership fee.
We realise that the cost this year has increased greatly from previous years. The Trust does not benefit from the increase, which is from the hotel itself. We very much hope that you are still able to join us and we will try our upmost to find a venue with a more desirable price in future. In the meantime, we would like to note that The Bloomsbury has for many years offered us a heavily-discounted rate and this rise is, they say, as a result of rising costs for them and they will continue to offer us what discount they can. We are very grateful for them for keeping costs down for as long as they could.
